WHO ARE WE?

The Thrive Spot have been providing high quality family centred speech pathology services in the Illawarra since 2021. In 2024, we made the jump into providing other allied health services including Exercise Physiology, Psychology and Chiropractic care. We are a team of dedicated therapists and customer relations team who strive to provide support to all children.

Our core purpose is to help our client reach their goals through their strengths, collaborating with important people to them and embracing their neurodiversity.

We want our families to feel empowered and in control of their child's goals. Our team constantly are learning and use the best evidence available to develop our services.

We are not afraid to make a fool of ourselves or try something new to ensure our clients are able to achieve their goals AND we definitely focus on having our clients and families enjoy therapy along the way!

THE PROCESS

While we have many steps to ensure we have a successful partnership with you and your child, here is a summary of our process below.

EVALUATE

Goals and progress are reviewed every term to ensure that therapy is on track.

HOME
PRACTICE

At the end of sessions, we will give you activity suggestions or strategies to continue on with. It is this extra practice that is vital to your child reaching their goals.

THERAPY

Throughout the sessions, you are encouraged to ask questions and be as involved as possible. The more you practice providing therapy, the more comfortable you will be at completing the activities at home between therapy sessions.

MAKE A PLAN

Once the assessment process is finished, we will organise a Service Agreement and Schedule of Supports which will help plan how often we do sessions with your child. We will also create a goal planning document so everyone knows what we are working on!

INITIAL

Our initial appointments consist of a phone case history appointment with just the caregiver. This way we can speak openly about your child's needs without listening ears. Our second appointment is when we meet your child and get started!
